What is a QR Code?
QR Codes or Quick Response Codes is a bar code scan technology that has the ability to store more information than the traditional vertical barcode. QR Codes have been in use since the early 1990’s as a solution for tracking parts and inventory. It has proven to be a very reliable tool and is used widespread throughout the world.
Are QR Codes here to stay or will they be obsolete in a few years?
There have been debates concerning the longevity of QR Codes, are they just a fad? It could be said that their lifespan is secure for the foreseeable future because of the fact that some of the largest brands are integrating QR Codes into multiple levels of their marketing campaigns. QR Codes are relatively new to the United States, but was developed in Japan and has been used there for many years. We feel that QR Codes are just in their infancy and that we will see them for many, many years to come.
Do I apply the QR Code, or will you apply it?
Generally the QR Code is mailed to you and you can apply it to your memorial stone. If the memorial stone is located in our immediate vicinity, we would be more than happy to apply it for you!
Does the fee for the QR Code include the website annual fee for space?
The $85 one-time fee includes the QR Code and unlimited use of your website.
How do I start managing my site?
Once you provide the minimal information needed to get your site started, you will receive an email giving you instructions on how to login to your new website. We also provide several tutorials walking you through many of the steps to get your website up and looking wonderful. How long does it take to get my loved ones website going?
Once you have uploaded your photos, video, images and text your website will be immediately available.
How is the QR Code affixed to the headstone?
The code arrives with a permanent adhesive on the back side. Please make sure that the location is clean and dry. For added measure of protection, you may want to consider applying a small bead of silicone sealant around the edges of the QR Code to prevent any damage to the adhesive.
What happens if my QR Code becomes lost or damaged?
Please contact us immediately if your QR Code is damaged in any way. We will replace the QR Code at no additional cost to you.
What if my memorial stone is a dual monument?
You have a couple of options. One, you can purchase two QR Codes and create a site for each individual on the monument. Or….
You can create the site so that it recognizes both individuals.
Can the QR Code be affixed to any type of headstone?
The only thing the QR Code requires is a smooth clean and dry surface. Therefore, the QR Code can be affixed to any style of monument, new or old.
Besides headstones, what other places can a QR Code be placed?
The QR Code can be placed on any smooth surface that you would like to utilize the easy link to a website using the QR Code technology. Historical buildings, City entrances, Museums, Works of Art and much more.
